Our guest on September 7th is Christie Craig, a photojournalist, author and speaker, Christie Craig grew up in Alabama, where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and regularly rescued potential princes, in the form of Alabama bullfrogs, from her brothers. Today, she is still fascinated with lighting bugs, mostly wears shoes, but has turned her focus to rescuing mammals instead of amphibians. She currently lives in Texas, with her four cats, her teenage son, and a prince of a husband, who for the record, is not a frog. She is an award-winning, multi-published novelist and writer whose non-fiction and photography have appeared in over three thousand national magazines. After selling four books in one day, she has gained a reputation for writing romance fiction that has both a witty humor and suspenseful, sexy tone. Christie has recently sold a Young Adult Series to St. Martins Press titled, Bone Creek Camp.

Saturday, September 11th September Tea -- Oui, We're Going French!
Welcome to the world of the French ... a high French tea no less! We'll be meeting at the beautiful Lavendou, a bit of the South of France in North Dallas!
A visit to Lavendou is a retreat into the French countryside - a place where life is savored as much as the food. The decor is warm and welcoming. Its cozy blue and yellow color scheme, filled with hand screened Pierre Deux fabrics, is the perfect setting in which to lose yourself.
Lavendou is thoroughly French, from the inviting decor to the gracious service and authentic cuisine. But don't expect it to be pretentious. Owner Pascal Cayet is dedicated to providing service that is friendly and efficient. And you will find Lavendou's menu to be deliciously approachable. Serving the lighter fare of Southern France, Lavendou offers many items to tempt your taste buds.
Our High Tea combines the flavors of France with the tranquility of a mid afternoon repast (oh, wait until we arrive!). Cost about $22 each.

Dear Reader
It saddens us to announce the closing of Legacy Books on Saturday, August 14. As we confirmed this development today with business associates, we quickly found ourselves the subject of online news stories at KERA 90.1 FM, The Dallas Observer and The Dallas Morning News. As much as we appreciate that attention, this is one time Legacy Books would have been happy not to make news.
We thank all of you who have supported a locally owned and operated 'indie' of this stature over the past 21 months. While we regret the close of business, we do not regret our efforts, nor the friends we made along the way. That means you.
